A few years ago I was looking for a natural, dye-free, electrolyte drink that would hydrate my toddler during a bought of the stomach flu. This was not easy to find. Even the dye-free, store-bought electrolyte drinks still have some terrible chemicals, artificial sweeteners, and “natural flavoring” that I wasn’t inerested in giving my little one, and they didn’t taste great either.
After searching for recipes, and testing out many batches on my family, this recipe is our absolute favorite!
I give this to my kiddos when they’re sick. I drank it during my pregnancy. I drink it when I’m working out or practicing yoga, and I also recommend it to my yoga students. I teach/practice Baptiste Yoga in a heated studio and this is the perfect drink to replenish electrolytes after a sweaty practice.
Feel free to add more citrus, different kinds of citrus, citrus essential oils (make sure they have supplement facts on the label so you know they’re safe to ingest), and play with the amount of raw organic maple syrup you add.
